Every custom made window treatment is just that – custom. There is no such thing as a ‘standard’ window whether it be a single, double, or even triple window. Each window has a different measurement. That is why, at Designs by Donna, we draft a full size pattern for each of the window valances we make. This assures the custom made window treatment will fit perfectly every time.
A client saw this window valance example in my studio. When she saw the amber colored crystal drops, she knew she had to have this custom valance style in her home.
First the client’s window is drawn to scale on graph paper. Then full size pattern pieces are drawn on the paper creating the long and short points for proper scale and proportion. Hanging the pattern on the wall helps to visualize the final outcome prior to cutting the fabric and fabricating the custom window valance.
The client loves the perfect fit of her custom window valances. She especially loves her amber colored crystal embellishments
