WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Hands-on Bedding Workshop with Donna Cash
Work with Donna as you make a pillow sham with unique details and a zipper, a duvet cover with a zipper closure, and a tailored bed skirt. This workshop is strictly limited to 6 students for maximum personalized guidance.
The workshop runs for 3 days (you will complete projects at your pace). The 3-day workshop costs $650.00 per student. Your first payment of $325 reserves your seat. We will automatically charge the remaining $325 to the same payment method one month after registration.
Once I receive your registration, I will send you a PDF with the supplies you need to complete your projects. This PDF also includes instructions to help you calculate yardage for your bedding ensemble.
Sessions run from 8:30-4:30 p.m. Day 3 may end a little bit earlier.
By attending this workshop, you agree to allow Designs by Donna to take photos or video of you for marketing and promotional purposes.
SCHEDULE
DAY ONE
Arrival – Students arrive between 8:00 am and 8:30 am.
Introductions – Once everyone’s fabrics are brought inside and set up, we take a few minutes to visit and get to know one another.
Getting Started – Then it’s time to start making a duvet cover.
What to Expect on Day One – By the end of day one, your duvet cover should be just about complete. Sound like a lot? Don’t worry because you’ve already done your homework from the PDF instructions sent to you after you register.
Lunch Time – At 12:30 pm we take a 1-hour break
Quitting Time – We end the day around 4:30. With all the information you’ve learned, you’ll be ready for a break!
DAY TWO
What to Expect on Day Two – You will make a tailored bed skirt on a band. A tailored bed skirt has a pleat on each side and a pleat at the corner at the foot of the bed. To make installing your bed skirt easier, you will make it on a band rather than a deck.
Depending on you, this should be complete by the end of the day. Whew! You’ll also get to know the other students and start forming new friendships.
Lunch Time – At 12:30 pm, we take a 1-hour break
Quitting Time – Expect to end the day around 4:30 pm.
DAY THREE
What to Expect on Day Three – You will make a pillow sham today. I always say making pillows is like the icing on the cake. So, I guess you can say it’s cake day. The pillow sham will have a few unique details and will coordinate with your duvet cover and bed skirt.
Today you leave with a bedding ensemble ready to dress up your room at home! Twin, full, or queen size.
Lunch Time – At 12:30 pm we take a 1-hour break
Quitting Time – Expect to end the day no later than 4:00 pm
